Our Story

Design Is How We Make the World Feel

Space Style Interiors was founded on a single conviction: that the spaces we inhabit shape the lives we live. We design with intention, craft with care, and listen before we create.

Charlotte Reed

Principal Designer & Founder

Charlotte Reed has spent the past seventeen years doing something most designers never slow down long enough to do she listens. Truly listens. Before a single fabric is pulled or a floor plan sketched, she sits with her clients and learns how they move through their days, what makes them feel at ease, and what they have always dreamed their home could feel like but never quite found the words to say. That gift of deep attention is the foundation of everything she creates, and it is why her spaces feel so unmistakably personal. Every room she designs carries the fingerprint of the person who lives in it their warmth, their taste, their story.

Charlotte's path into design was shaped by both academic rigor and a profound personal calling. She earned her degree in Interior Design from the University of Arizona graduating with honors where she developed the technical foundation and design vocabulary that would anchor her practice for years to come. But it was what happened after graduation, in the quiet and sometimes difficult work of building a life, that gave her work its deepest meaning. Charlotte's faith is not separate from her design philosophy it is the very heart of it. Her love of Jesus, her devotion to family, and her belief in the healing power of a beautifully ordered space have guided every step of her journey, both personally and professionally. She has walked through her own seasons of rebuilding, and she understands in a way that goes far beyond aesthetics what it means to need a home that holds you.

When Charlotte is not designing, you will find her doing the things that fill her up: loving her community well, pursuing fitness, tending her garden, traveling with her daughter, and simply doing life alongside the people she cherishes most. She brings that same warmth and intentionality to every client relationship she enters. Our homes are not just rooms they are the places where joy is cultivated, where peace is found, where we rest and rise and begin again. Charlotte would be deeply honored to help you create a space that reflects your image, carries your spirit, and makes you smile every single time you walk through the door.

“A room should feel like it has always been exactly this way as if it could not possibly be otherwise.”

The People Behind Every Space

Tana Hawk, Administrative Manager & Interior Designer

Tana Hawk

Administrative Manager & Interior Designer

Tana's love for design was set in motion long before she ever stepped foot in a client's home. After earning her degree from the University of North Carolina, she immersed herself in the world of interiors, spending several formative years designing in showrooms across the Twin Cities, where she developed a refined eye and a deep appreciation for the way thoughtfully chosen spaces can transform how people feel. Her experience spans residential design, commercial interiors, multi-family projects, and model homes. And if you ask her what she loves most about the craft, she will tell you without hesitation: the lighting. Finding that perfect fixture the one that makes a room come alive is, for Tana, pure joy.

Tana joined Charlotte at Space Style Interiors in January of 2018, and the studio has not been the same since. As Administrative Manager, she is the steady, gracious force behind the scenes coordinating schedules, managing purchases, contracts, billing, and accounting with a precision and warmth that keeps everything running beautifully. She also steps into the design process itself, assisting with consultations, sourcing, and the magic of installation and reveal day. Her energy, her heart, and her genuine desire to bring joy and peace not only to clients' homes but to the life of the business itself have been an immeasurable gift.

When she is not working, Tana is dreaming of her next adventure. She has a deep passion for travel epic road trips across the country, and anywhere with an ocean view will always have her heart. Her love for Jesus, her commitment to serving her community, and her devotion to family and friends are the anchors of her life. She is the kind of person who inspires everyone around her, finds joy in the art of planning, and approaches every season with the spirit of a lifelong learner.

Why I Started

A Calling Born From Personal Transformation

I didn't choose interior design. It chose me quietly, persistently, in the middle of one of the hardest seasons of my life.

There was a time when my own home didn't feel like a home at all. It felt like a reflection of everything I was trying to hold together: chaotic, uncertain, and without peace. I remember standing in a room I lived in every day and feeling completely disconnected from it. That disconnection, I came to understand, was about far more than furniture or color. It was about identity. It was about belonging. It was about whether I believed I deserved a space that felt beautiful and intentional and mine.

It was during that season of personal healing through faith, through prayer, through the slow and sacred work of rebuilding that I began to understand what a home is truly meant to be. Not a showpiece. Not a status symbol. A sanctuary. A place where the noise of the world quiets, where you exhale the moment you walk through the door, where every corner whispers that you are known and you are loved.

I began transforming my own space with almost nothing a few intentional choices, a willingness to be still and listen to what the room needed, and a deep belief that beauty is not a luxury reserved for the privileged few. It is a gift we give ourselves. And when I saw what that transformation did not just to the room, but to how I felt waking up each morning, how I moved through my day, how I welcomed people into my life I knew I had found my purpose.

Every client I work with carries their own story. Some are rebuilding after loss. Some are stepping into a new chapter. Some simply know that something is missing and can't quite name it yet. I meet each of them exactly where they are. And together, we create something that goes far beyond aesthetics a space that holds them, reflects them, and reminds them, every single day, of who they are and what they deserve.

That is why I do this work. Not for the accolades or the portfolio. For the moment a client walks into their finished space, goes quiet, and says this feels like me. That moment never gets old.

“Your home should be the truest expression of who you are and I would be honored to help you find it.”
